Namibia is a country we (I) have been interested in visiting for quite a while. It's one that can be done quite easily by self-drive or so we are told - the older we get the less we fancy the hassle of the potential disasters that could befall us (and there are many - the worst probably being breaking down in the vast expanse of desert with no mobile signal and dwindling water supplies!)
So having considerably overspent on the last trip to Africa we decided we'd give VJV (Voyages Jules Verne) another chance as their trip looks quite comprehensive - although probably the usual "whistle-stop" tour - and forego the luxury we've had on our other trips to Africa.
We're flying overnight to Jo'burg and then 2 hours on to Windhoek.
